| Newport Chemical Depot Permit Needed | ||

The army wants permission to handle some of the waste from neutralizing its stockpile of the deadly V-X nerve agent at the Newport Chemical Depot. Officials say that an environmental permit would allow contractors to store items that workers use such as protective gloves, clean suits and tools in a warehouse. The warehouse at the depot is approved for storing hazardous waste. The Indiana
Department of Environmental Management, or IDEM, will take public comment
on the permit change Thursday, February 19th through April the
19th. |
