Eighty-seven bicyclists took part in Saturday’s tenth annual Rainbow Trail Round-Up bike race, sponsored by the Custer County Bike Cub and the Chamber of Commerce.

Beverly Goertz is the new secretary at the County Extension office.

Alan Urban of rural Westcliffe will be one of 15 Americans attending the upcoming International Chemical Weapons conference in Saratov, Russia. Urban became involved in a chemical weapons citizen’s coalition while living in Pueblo, where the former Pueblo Army Depot is located.

Bill Bowlds, president of Custer County Bank, has returned from a Corvette rally in Steamboat Springs which attracted more than 500 of the muscle car devotees. Over the years, Bowlds has owned more than 100 ‘Vettes, starting with a 1958 Stingray he acquired in 1962 prior to enrolling at Texas Tech.
