Nerve agent transferred for testing
A small sample of sarin was shipped from the Blue
Grass Army Depot for analysis at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, the
agency in charge of storing and monitoring weapons at the depot reported
over the weekend.
The 15 tablespoons of the nerve agent, also known
as GB, were taken from a bulk container while the containers' plugs were
being replaced about two weeks ago, a release from Blue Grass Chemical Activity
states.
The analysis will determine the best method to destroy
the contents of the container during demilitarization.
