Write
letters to help get funds for depot
I just want to say that I suppose that everyone is aware that President
Bush and the Defense Department gave approval for funds and permits to start
April 1, 2005, destroying the chemical weapons at Blue Grass Army Depot.
Next he sent the word that there were no funds. Next he sent word funds would
be available 2011, knowing 2012 is the deadline and that it will take seven
years to destroy them. That is the situation in Madison County.
Also, I want to give special thanks and appreciation to Mitch McConnell
who kept his word in trying to help us and not putting politics ahead of what
is right to save our country. Also, thanks to Jim Bunning, Ben Chandler and
many more, and locally to Craig Williams, who has worked for years checking,
testing and everything possible to find the safest method of destruction only
to have their word broken. Like Craig, who has brain and guts enough to fight
it, we all must help.
All letters in Kentucky papers are read by those in Washington to get the
funds realeased which will show that we will not give up. I was told this
from headquarters for everyone to write the Richmond and Lexington papers
and not over 300 words and give your phone number. Time is the element and
we can do all we can to help.
