Allard wants weapons destroyed at Pueblo site

Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., introduced a bill Wednesday to bar the Army from studying ways to transport chemical weapons from the Pueblo Chemical Depot to other states for destruction.

Allard said the Defense Department had assured him and Sen. Ken Salazar, D-Colo., last week that the weapons would be disposed of on site in Pueblo then announced a day later that it would study options to transport the weapons elsewhere for disposal.
