Pentagon funding for Pueblo Chemical Depot's chemical demilitarization
program is to total nearly $152. million under an appropriation pending in
Congress.
U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard announced that the Senate Armed Services Committee
voted to restore $147 million to be added to the less than $5 million initially
submitted by the Department of Defense. We thank Sen. Allard and Sen. Ben
Nighthorse Campbell, both R-Colo., for their support. The funding still
has a way to go before becoming final.
The Pentagon had submitted other Pueblo-related requests, but it's the $151.7
million for chem-demil operations to keep your eye on this funding cycle.
