MOSCOW, December 22 (Itar-Tass) - The
State Duma has ratified the
Russian-French agreement on cooperation in eliminating chemical weapons
storage in Russia.
The document was signed last February
and aimed at
creating a legal base for receiving gratuitous financial and technical
assistance to eliminate Russia's chemical weapons storage and build
chemical weapons destruction facilities.
France has already sent a letter to
Russia
informing that it will grant 6 million euros to create a project on
environmental monitoring over the chemical weapons storage site in
Shchuchye, the Kurgan region, and to finance other related projects.
