Schedule and Cost Integration Summary

Following is a summary of data calculations for PMCDs' October 2000 schedule document and the cost document, of which the CWWG obtained a summary sheet. As you can see, the data from one document complements, and gives added credibility, to the other.

Calculating data from PMCD's secret October 2000 document we find the following.

1. The cumulative extension of incinerator operations, for all assembled chemical weapons sites is:

40.5 years.

That equals 14,783 days of operations.

2. The daily cost of incinerator operations, as stated by PMCD, is:

$285,000.

3. Multiplying operational days by a daily operation cost:

14,783 x $285,000

gives us a cost increase of

$4.2 billion

Data from PMCD's secret cost document, of which CWWG obtained a summary page, shows the following.

1. "Known Cost Growths, Operational Extension:" $3.2 billion.
"Likely Cost Increases, Operational Increases:" + $1.5 billion

2. Add these figures, and we get: $4.7 billion.

The difference between a cost estimate of $4.2 billion from one document and $4.7 billion from another is relatively small for a program with a total cost estimate of $24 billion!
