FUNDS OK'D FOR WEAPONS DISPOSAL
A 2006 defense appropriations bill passed yesterday contains $53 million
for chemical weapons destruction at Blue Grass Army Depot and the Pueblo Depot
in Colorado.
The money will be added to the $372.3 million the senators already secured
for the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program.
The Defense Department project is building a $2 billion facility to destroy 523 tons of chemical weapons stored at Blue Grass Army Depot.
