WASHINGTON DC

WEAPONS DISPOSAL TEAM HONORED

The U.S. Senate has honored the Berea-based Chemical Weapons Working Group and its director, Craig Williams, for working two decades for the safe and prompt destruction of chemical weapons at Blue Grass Army Depot. U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told colleagues that Williams and the group have helped keep Defense Department officials accountable to Kentucky citizens. "Craig has been another set of eyes and ears for the Kentucky delegation, keeping us abreast of what is going on -- or not going on --- at the depot," he said. McConnell's tribute was read into the Congressional Record on Sept. 12.
