Deadline nears on
incineration comment
HERMISTON — Residents have until 5 p.m. June 7 to submit comments
on the start of incineration of chemical agent munitions at the Umatilla
Chemical Depot.
A public hearing also will be held May 20 in Hermiston for residents
to provide comments to the Environmental Quality Commission, the governing
body of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
After completion of the public comment period, the DEQ will review
and consider all comments and prepare a report for the EQC.
The DEQ will accept oral and written comments by mail, fax and e-mail
at any time during the comment period.
