Pueblo mustard gas
Re: "Pueblo reels from depot cuts," Jan. 13 news story.
Coloradans must consider the political side of the upcoming decision by the
Bush administration to violate yet another treaty, this time the Chemical
Weapons Convention. The Republicans in Washington may be looking for ways
to punish Colorado for increasing its congressional strength of Democrats.
I applaud the Salazar brothers, Sen. Wayne Allard, and Rep. Joel Hefley for
working together to sway the administration to keep funding for the Pueblo
Chemical Depot at levels sufficient to meet this nation's treaty obligations.
