| Mustard vapor leaks at
depot
STOCKTON — Mustard agent vapor was discovered to be leaking from two over-packed 155 mm projectiles Tuesday during monitor operations in a storage igloo at Deseret Chemical Depot. Depot workers in protective clothing entered the igloo containing the over-packed projectiles and placed the two munitions in larger airtight containers for continued storage. The earth-covered storage structure is filtered so no vapor escaped into the environment, and there was no danger to surrounding communities, according to a depot press statement. |
