worker hurts hand on VX drum
STOCKTON, Tooele County — Entry
into the Deseret Chemical Depot's toxic operations areas was closed off to
workers for a time Sunday morning after an employee punctured his hand while
moving a drum of VX agent.
According to a chemical depot officials, a metal sliver on the drum apparently
pierced the protective suit and the worker's skin.
The injured worker was taken to the plant's medical facility for a blood
sample. Results of the blood draw showed no signs of VX. The worker showed
no signs of VX symptoms was allowed to report back to work.
