Green Party hosts environmentalist

BRIDGETON -- The Cumberland County Green Party will be hosting area environmentalist John DiOrio at a meeting this month.

The event is set for 7:30 p.m. June 17 at Brenner's Brew Coffeehouse, 21 E. Commerce St.

DiOrio, who resides in Heislerville, will be speaking about his concerns over the recent revelation that the Army dumped pretreated stockpiles of the chemical nerve agent VX hydrolysate into the Delaware River basin.

The Greens' regular monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the DiOrio talk. Admission is free and the community is welcome.
