Shahriar Khateri, supervisor of an Iranian research center on victims of chemical weapons, was quoted as saying that the two sides intended to exchange scientific know-how on treatment of the chemical weapons victims.
"A delegation of Dutch professors and researchers specialized inlung diseases are expected to visit Iran in response to the invitation of the research center on August 27-31 to discuss such cooperation," Khateri was quoted as saying.
"The visiting delegation will also present several research projects on treatment of the chemically disabled war veterans and assessment of the impact of the symptoms of such weapons on the disabled," he said.
Khateri added that the MoU to be signed would concern supply of medical equipment required for diagnosis and treatment of the symptoms inflicted on the Iranian veterans by chemical weapons.
Iran has been active in the movement against weapons of mass destruction, including chemical weapons, since a considerable number of people were wounded by chemical weapons during the 1980-1988 war with Iraq. Enditem
