DALLAS Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods has been
awarded a $400,000 advertising contract for the Arkansas Department of Emergency
Management (ADEM), the shop said.
The Little Rock, Ark., agency won the account in a formal review against
The Rendon Group of Boston, and St. Louis-based Fleishman-Hillard.
CJRW has been charged with creating a public safety campaign that will support
ADEM's Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP).
Targeting Arkansans who live near and around Pine Bluff Arsenal, the campaign's
goal is to educate residents about the appropriate actions in the event of
a chemical incident. One of eight military sites across the country that stockpiles
chemical weapons, Pine Bluff Arsenal is scheduled to begin destruction of
its weapons by incineration in July.
"We don't believe there will be any problems during the incineration process,
but we want to make sure that all residents know what to do if something happens,"
said Kelly Robinson, CSEPP public information officer. "We want them to know
and understand these precautions and the emergency plans that are in place."
Launching in May and running throughout the year, the campaign will include
local cable TV, print, radio and direct mail elements. CJRW also will develop
a Web site for CSEPP that will serve as an information resource for the public
and media.
According to the shop, the campaign is funded by a grant from the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and ADEM, which oversees CSEPP in Arkansas.
