Quality work

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the weapons incinerator constructed in my backyard in Wellborn could safely destroy nearly 600,000 pounds of chemical agent in just a year and a half. The incredible thing about the whole destruction process is that this has been accomplished by working over six million hours without a workday loss, and that is with more than 700 employees.

It is not only in the workplace where Westinghouse employees are so visible; you see them throughout our county, serving on many civic and governmental boards and anywhere they can be of help. Hats off to former director, Preston Gray, and present director, Bob Love. Love is a former submarine commander and an excellent fit for Westinghouse Anniston. Sheila Gilbert is everyone’s point of contact for Westinghouse and she also does a great job. And you cannot mention the word “demil” without mentioning the brain behind this whole project — Tim Garrett.

You guys have done one heck of a job and we, the people of Calhoun County, say thank you.
