Michael Abrams, a long-time spokesman for the chemical demilitarization program in Anniston, has returned to the post.

Abrams was the spokesman for the program from 1995 through last November, when he left to take a spokesman’s position with an Army program in Huntsville. Abrams said he returned for personal and professional reasons.

“I have a lot of emotional and professional investment in this program,” he said. “And I miss that. But most importantly, I did not like being a 99-mile husband and father.”

The Army had not appointed a replacement for Abrams after his departure, though Donovan Mager, a spokesman for the Washington Group, had taken on some of the duties. Mager will be leaving for a position in Boise, Idaho.
