LOUISVILLE, Ky. President Bush's budget proposal includes 175 (m) million dollars for a plant to destroy chemical weapons at the Blue Grass Army Depot near Richmond.

If Congress goes along with the request, construction of the plant could begin next year. That's according to Craig Williams, director of the Chemical Weapons Working Group, a community organized based in Berea.

The proposed building will be used to destroy 523 tons of weapons. The chemicals include the deadly nerve agents sarin and V-X.

Under an international treaty, the United States is supposed to destroy all of its chemical weapons by 2012.
