Anniston chemical weapons incinerator running again

Associated Press

The Anniston chemical weapons incinerator is up and running after a tiny fire in an electrical panel stopped them a few weeks ago.

Officials at the incineration facility described last week's work as "very successful."

They reported that one-thousand-460 V-X filled rockets were destroyed along with the one-thousand-448 gallons of liquid V-X nerve agent. That brings the total number V-X rockets destroyed to more than 28,000-600.

They've also destroyed more than 32,000 gallons - that's more than 136 tons - of liquid V-X.
